MGMT "congratulations"
(Columbia-Sony, exit 12 April)

12 Minutes 10 seconds... it is the duration of "siberian Breaks", piece of bravery of the New Yorkers of MGMT's new album. So that, on the Internet forums, comments are well underway on this exercise, that supports speeds of travel pyschédélique. It is the best time of the inflated hyper-pop disk, marked by 1960s two young musicians, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, were not known. We love "Congratulations", which gives its title to the CD, or "Brian eno", tribute to distance and a nothing mocking the composer and producer lighthouse. An air almost rock, humping that should do wonders this summer. The two MGMT are not repeated: the risk to next new hymns as were "time to pretend" or "Kids" on "Oracular Spectacular", previous achievement. Imagine the pressure on the shoulders of this duo, which sold still 2 million albums in the world (and 150,000 in France). An unpublished score area "indie". Is "Congratulations" made to last It is a little early to say but can already awarded him the mention "very good".
"Ginger" of Gaëtan Roussel
(1 CD Barclay-Universal)
Many rock fans went next to formations such as the innocent and Louise attack. Them as being too easy too French, they taxed them "variety groups." Now that their leaders out solo of the stunning albums of creativity and energy, they are ravisent. After JP Nataf (innocent), it is the turn of Gaëtan Roussel (Louise attack and Tarmac) defray the Chronicle with a whirlwind pop-rock: "Ginger". Beautiful French melodies to Manu Chao, far accents "brit" pop sound of hell (the guitars of "clap hands"), heavenly harmonies (the chœurs of "inside outside")... this almost perfect disk, with some heavyweights in the American "indie rock" scene, is not really a surprise on the part of a musician who had so beautifully orchestrated the latest Bashung album"Blue oil".Free electrons inspired as Gaëtan Roussel, the Gallic Rooster can finally display without fear a rocker Ridge
"songs of the falling feather" of Josefine Cronholm
(1 CD ACT-Harmonia Mundi)
Finally a disk of the Swedish Josefine Cronholm properly distributed in France. This is great news for fans of jazz with a beautiful voice and pop, a niche not used... Precisely, Josefine recognises us the most pop album in his discography. It begins with an absolute tube, "Paralysed" (theme and carved... arrangements for strings). From one end to another of this refined recording, Josefine Cronholm proves be a composer in the tradition of Joni Mitchell. It almost forgotten the essential: the voice, which is part of the lineage of the "small voice". A delicate veil brings a poignant sensuality. She sang always just, regardless of the registry. The German label ACT ran long after singers. Of many "bad picks" (Viktoria Tolstoi and Rigmor Gustafsson, both infuriating vocalists), they blow on blow, signed two of the best: Youn Sun Nah and Josefine Cronholm
"New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh" of Erykah Badu
(1 CD Motown)
It is the scandal of the time across the Atlantic. The new Erykah Badu clip shows singer repeating to foot part of the route where President Kennedy was assassinated, in is trimming news. Black diva, very politically committed thus wants to denounce the "politically correct". That Act. Pending his latest album "new amerykah Part two" returned superbly with the fundamentals of the "soul nu". A "soul" sophisticated, chaloupée, deep, almost abstract, which sends to pellets latest avatars of a R & B commercial and loud, gasping for air. It is a cool ether verging on jazz. The subtle nuances of the album indicate that after several listenings. In the meantime, it is embedded, hypnotized by this sweet music which undressed us the soul rhythmic gestures and sensual agony. A "soul strip" which makes dreamer and happy
"London's twelve Symphonies" by Joseph Haydn. The musicians of the Louvre, Marc Minkowski (branch)
(1 box of 4 CD naive)
It was during two London stays, motivated by a significant remuneration that Haydn composed 12 symphonies. A sexagenary penalty in the 1790s, the composer was an inexhaustible imagination. The proliferation of ideas, if original way develop and orchestrate them earned him a triumph. Marc Minkowski highlights the identity of each Symphony without however forcing the line. It animates the sharp movements with energy and enthusiasm that is known about him, but he knows also dance minuets of a light foot and let flourish wrote eloquence of slow episodes. Its musicians of the Louvre, more attentive and generous as ever, offered him a rich palette of colours and expressions. Malicious, vigorous, dynamic, sensitive, dreamer, refined... This Haydn is a friend for life.
